St
Christopher's Church, opened in 2001, replaces an old 1930's building
and serves one of the town's largest housing estates. Since construction
the church has developed an identity as both a church and a community
resource for Fenside.
In
addition to a regular pattern of worship the church has Brownie
and Rainbow packs, an after school club, and Women's Institute meetings.
There is also community use by Sure Start /Home Start for parents
and toddlers, and for work with teenage mums, well women, quit smoking,
active play and anger management programmes. The education authority
and social services hold classes within the building.
